“How it is we have so much information, but know so little?” – Noam Chomsky ||

Hello everyone, and happy Friday!!!

After unveiling Podcast Notes yesterday, today I’m introducing another new feature: a brief summary of key stories I’ve seen over the past day that are relevant to the crypto and macro stories I talk about.

I’ve been feeling frustrated lately at the lack of time to cover everything that I think matters, since that bracket is widening as fast as the news is accelerating – this might help me at least present more of the significant trends I’m seeing, without worrying so much about form and format.

So, I won’t try to cover all news, just those that support and/or echo themes I’ve written about: geopolitics, macro shifts, crypto moves, regulatory rumbles – patterns are forming, and I’d love us to watch them together.

Also below, I take a look at institutional interest in crypto from a different angle. And, I share some notes from a characteristically interesting Jim Bianco interview on the economy and the FOMC.

IN THIS NEWSLETTER:

  • Institutions and crypto: Gaps rather than barriers

  • Podcast notes: Jim Bianco on Monetary Matters

  • NEW FEATURE: Macro-Crypto Bits

If you’re not a premium subscriber, I hope you’ll consider becoming one! You get ~daily commentary on markets, tokenization, regulation and other signs that crypto IS impacting the macro landscape. As well as audio, relevant links and music recommendations ‘cos why not.

Let me help you keep up with the growing overlap between the crypto and macro landscapes.

WHAT I’M WATCHING:

Institutions and crypto: Gaps rather than barriers

The word “mainstream” has been doing some heavy lifting recently. I’ve lost count of the number of articles I’ve seen with catchy headlines along the lines of “crypto is going/has gone mainstream”, and as a click-grabber, it does check some boxes: for supporters, it’s the serotonin rush of achieving what we’ve been working towards; for critics, it’s the adrenaline of seeing your fears materialize, or the frustration over confirmation that the majority can be so foolish.
