Stablecoins in Brazil

Episode 2 of a new series on Stablecoins Around the World

Hello everyone! Welcome to the second episode in my new video podcast series on Stablecoins Around the World.

In this limited series, I hope to cover most of the main stablecoin hot spots outside the US – my goal is to highlight that while the US may have the largest market and its currency may anchor the bulk of stablecoin supply, stablecoins are a global phenomenon.

To do that, I’ll be talking to experts about their impressions of the stablecoin regulation, institutional involvement, infrastructure and use cases in the regions they’re familiar with.

In this episode we’re focusing on Brazil, so of course I turned to my friend and former colleague Aaron Stanley. Many of you are no doubt already familiar with his work, but for those that aren’t:

Aaron has worked in government policy, he’s written for several high-profile media brands, we worked together at CoinDesk for a while, where he played a key role in getting the Consensus events off the ground. He’s also managed events and partnerships for the Filecoin Foundation. He organizes side tracks at global events such as Davos. And he is founder and managing director of Promenade Advisory.

He is also the founder of the Brazil Crypto Report newsletter and host of the podcast, focusing on crypto in Brazil. This recently rebranded to Bits & Borders with a wider remit. You can find this on Substack, and it’s a strong recommend for anyone interested in the generally undercovered stories about finance and technology more broadly in regions outside the US.

For show notes and more detail on the Brazilian stablecoin ecosystem, see this post.
